Due to a number of difficulties we all faced this year, our Summer Activities Programme looked a little different. This year we offered an array of online summer activities and for various reasons we had a significantly lower number of young people attend. But those 11 young people who did had the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills in arts and cooking, test their strategy skills in scavenger hunts and task master type tasks and boost their mental well-being and physical state in a series of yoga sessions. Here is what was on offer this year; Nature & Animated Film Quizzes, Yoga, Symmography Workshop, Cooking Workshops, Scavenger Hunt, Taskmaster type challenges, Air Dry Clay Rainbows, Pipe Cleaner Dragonflies, No Sew Upcycled Bunting, Comic Book Style Character Design, Playdoh Challenge, Construction Challenge, Wildlife Craft, Nature Trail Project, Introduction to Manga Drawing, Matisse Inspired Snail Collage Workshop, Indian Wall Hanging Inspired Collage Workshop, Origami Workshop, Drawing Workshops – Illuminated Letters and Making Something Look 3D and a Pointillism style painting workshop.
Overall, the young people thoroughly enjoyed the activities, in particular yoga was very popular! The activities delivered went well and so we are thinking of using online platforms in the future, until we can meet face-to-face and deliver our group activities again. This will still allow the young people to access Green Fingers and give them the opportunity to still be part of the Green Fingers Project.
