“The Green Fingers project is funded by the Big Lottery and started in 2010. It is run in association with Worcestershire Childrens First Childrens Services and it now employs two Green Fingers mentors and the Community and Leisure Development Worker who is the coordinator for the project. The project works exclusively with Looked After Children and adopted young people and their carers, helping them through training and activities to improve their health and well-being. The training and activities are based mainly around healthy living, horticultural work and the arts. Research continues to demonstrate the therapeutic effectiveness of these activities for children (see ‘Feedback and Evidence‘ for links to specific articles and case studies).”
