Arts Sessions
A new look to the arts sessions has worked well over the last term. The sessions have been divided into two 3-week projects. The first 3 weeks the young people worked on a mixed media canvas experimenting with different mediums and in the second 3 weeks they focused on landscape painting with our resident landscape artist. It has given the young people the opportunity to learn new arts skills at their own pace and developing their art skills they already have. The young people have achieved a high standard of art work to be proud of to take home to show their parents and carers.
Coming up next term we have still life observation and abstract painting looking at different artists and their techniques, with opportunities to gain AQA certificates.
Music Sessions
We started the new term with a new theme in our music sessions. The session is split into two different sessions. The first hour the young people learn how to play the keyboard, from learning the different keys to learning to play new tunes. The second session is a singing session where the young people practising the latest songs from the likes of Jessie Jay and Ed Sheeran in a group. There is also the opportunity to sing solos and duets as well if they are confident enough to do so! Both sessions are led by professional musician and singer.
