Summer Activities
The summer activites have been running for eleven years and six years by the Green Fingers Project. We had a really fun packed time with lots of new activites including a recycle arts workshop, a wood work and resin workshop and a fishing activity. All the summer activites were mostly fully attended and the positive comments left by the young people just said it all – “It was supberb and amazing, I loved it all. I liked meeting new people.”
Green Fingers Update
Hot off the Press… Fantastic news! Green Fingers have been able to secure funding for another five years. The funding for the current project expired at the end of June this year and we are so pleased to have successfully gained another grant which will enable us to continue and expand the project even further.
Green Fingers have been awarded £329,876 from the Big Lottery to continue to deliver a 5 year ‘Green Fingers’ Healthy Care in Action Project for Worcestershire Looked After Children and carers. The focus of the project will be to improve the health and well-being of both young people and carers through ‘green’ activities so people gain a better understanding of healthy lifestyles. We will be able to employ a part-time and full-time member of staff along with sessional workers. Another really exciting development will be employing two apprenticeships to work within the service. These will be open to Looked After Children and care leavers and one will be an administration apprenticeship and the other a gardening / horticulture. The project is also now open to Adopted and kinship young people.
