In January we sent out a letter asking for donations to local businesses for building resources and equipment to help finish our sensory garden and improve other parts of our Green Fingers site.
Several companies came back to us. So far we have received donations from Faithful Tree Care and Nicks Tree Solutions who kindly donated lots of woodchip for the allotment paths, soil conditioner from Mercia Waste Management Company for the raised beds and allotment and a £100 donation from Worcester Bosch.
Also a massive thank you needs to go out to John the manager at Jewson’s in Worcester who delivered two lorry fulls of wood, paving slabs, bricks and astro turf; this has helped us out A LOT! We can’t thank you enough. This will enable us to develop areas of our site that are prone to flooding, entrance steps and our allotment to make our site more accessible and enjoyable for everyone participating.
New Leaf Plants also donated several climbing plants for our sensory garden which will help to make the site more therapeutic.
The Cabin in Worcester have also continued to donate to us lots of their off cuts of mount board. We use this in lots of our sessions but mainly used for our arts and educational mentoring sessions which the young people use to draw and paint fabulous pictures on.
