The Green Fingers Music sessions are run by a few different musicians and they sometimes work together with other parties using inspiration from our music groups band, The Bad Habits, songs. This term we saw two of their songs used for two different projects. One being from two students at the University of Worcester who have formed their own theatre company, ‘ Looking Through The Glass’. Lacy and Magda attended a couple of our Music and Arts Sessions to talk to the young people about aspects of their life or the world which they feel are important. We discussed an order of importance and how this order could change in the future. They focused a lot on friends, family, education, school, cyber bullying and being environmentally friendly. The young people gained a lot from this session and were able to write a few songs based on some of the subjects risen. Lacy and Magda from Looking Through The Glass took these ideas and turned them into a short play as part of their degree show. They also took drawings and illustrations from the Green Fingers Project Art group to have as the background of the play.
The other project was with one of the musicians Chris, took a song The Bad Habits wrote with him about water and helped a third party create a music video for it. A young person from both our Arts and Music group also had her drawing from the video printed onto the T-shirts as merchandise. What could be next for our talented young people?
