In the beginning of December we sent out a letter asking for donations to help us build and develop some areas of our site. We have had a sensory garden planned since we started Green Fingers but due to the nature of the ever growing site, the daily goings on and that little thing called TIME, the sensory garden has been put off… until now! Because Green Fingers is solely Lottery funded, our budget is tight and we have to be cautious and wise and plan carefully our expenditure, hence the letter asking for help from the bigger companies in our local community. So far we have had a generous amount of donations from Jewsons, Build Base and Worcester Bosch. So in the new year we can start to build our sensory garden, build a better path way and stairs to make our site more accessible – especially in the winter months and to build a nature trail around our fishing pond and forest school area.
So for now, as an immediate regard, we would like to shout out a huge ‘Thank You!’ to Jewsons, Build Base and Worcester Bosch for their support. We will keep you updated on our developments soon.
If you would like to help out the Green Fingers Project in some way, we are always looking for volunteers – subject to a DBS check – please contact manager Joanne Frost for details on how to apply. Alternatively, if you have any gardening, landscaping or woodworking tools, equipment, even plants or garden furniture you might be looking to rid of we might find it useful, so again please do get in touch.
